Bangkok, Thailand – 24 May 2023 – On 20 May 2023, Sunday Ins Co., Ltd (“Sunday”), the leadingfull-stack insurtech company in Southeast Asia, led by Mr. Dhanadham Pokthitiyuk, Chief Marketing Officer & Director of Sunday, participated in the opening ceremony of the EVAT x EGAT Electric Motorcycle Conversion Contest for Business Opportunity between 19 – 21 May 2023 at Kasetsart University Sriracha campus. This contest aims to promote and develop skills and expertise in electric vehicles among youth and the general public to meet the growth of the electric vehicle industry in Thailand. According to the TTB Economic Analysis Center report, EV registrations are expected to grow by 321.7% YoY because people are showing a growing interest in EVs.
At this competition, there were a total of 57 teams, consisting of 48 teams from educational institutions and 9 individual teams. The S11 UTCC Auto team from Uttaradit Technical College emerged as the winner in the educational institution category, receiving a prize of THB 100,000. The first runner-up in this category was Team S57 UTK-EV Conversion from Rajamangala University of Technology, Bangkok, Faculty of Engineering Mechanical Engineering, who received a prize money worth THB 50,000. The second runner-up was Team S48 Khun Phon Ev bike from Khun Phon College, receiving a prize worth THB 30,000. In the general public group category, the first prize in this category went to team G02 Black Maeta, who received a trophy and prize money worth THB 100,000.
The first runner-up in the competition was the G07 T2D team, who received a prize of THB 50,000. The second runner-up was the G05 Moto bike team, receiving a prize of 30,000 baht. Additionally, the S57 UTK-EV Conversion team from Rajamangala University of Technology Bangkok, Faculty of Engineering, won the innovation category for developing a unique and commercially viable technology, such as a swappable battery drive motor, drive/control system (motor and controller), charger (on-board charger), and body/swing arm (body and swing arm). They received a prize worth 30,000 baht.The first runner-up in the competition was the G07 T2D team, who received a prize of THB 50,000. The second runner-up was the G05 Moto bike team, receiving a prize of THB 30,000.
